Windows 10: Im out of space and it say windows is using up over 300Gb of it, is this normal?

It wont let me send an image but in C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local there is a folder called "CrashDumps" which is worth 315GB. There are are 7605 files that are all 48MB and each of them are all a .dmp. Should i delete all of them?

My windows folder is taking up 300GB of my space. I've had this issue before, but forgot the resolution.

 

windows system using 423 GB of space.

This has to do with a compromised MSI executable which created thousands of gibberish executables in the System32 folder. This may have happened on 18th May 2023.

Open admin Command Prompt and run:

• schtasks /query /tn "\OmApSvcBroker" /v /fo list

Step 1.

I suggest you to go through the powershell command and try the steps.

• Open the Task manager. Here’s a tip: Press CTRL+Shift+ESC.
  
• Click on File tab and select Run New Task.
  
• Make sure you have a check mark beside Create this task with administrative privileges.
  
• Type Powershell.
• Type the following in the Powershell prompt:
  
  $manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest
  
• Close the Powershell window
• Reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.

If the issue still persist, try the below steps:

Step 2.

I would recommend you to the Run the Internet connections troubleshooter and check. Please follow these steps:

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the Windows search box on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting in the search results.
  
• 
  Click "View all" and then click "Internet Connections".
  
• 
  Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooter.
